The scope of the supply includes a complete coal handling system to convey coal from a jetty to a stockpile and from there to the power plant. The system has a 6800 tonnes per hour stockpiling capacity and 4500 tonnes per hour reclaiming capacity. Apart from one of the world's largest bucket wheel stacker-reclaimers for coal, the system also includes a series of conveyors of high speed and high capacity.

FLSmidth has previously received two material handling orders from the Tata Power Company Ltd. The first came in 2006 and was followed by another in 2008.

"Material handling systems and products is the fastest growing segment of FLSmidth's portfolio and this contract demonstrates our capability of meeting the strictest requirements of a wide spectrum of industries, including infrastructure sectors such as ports and energy," Group CEO Jørgen Huno Rasmussen comments.
