FLSmidth Minerals has been aware that more precise data has been required in the design and process areas, to lead the industry into a better understanding of what occurs inside of a grinding mill, and how the circuit is affected by ore conditions, ball charge loading, circulating loads, liner designs as well as to assist in the operational performance of the equipment. To enhance our understanding of large grinding circuits FLSmidth Minerals embarked on substantial research and development work in 1999, and this investment has resulted in a range of new instruments, controls and services that form the beginning of our Performance Enhancement Technology Suite (PETS) of offerings for grinding mills.
All of these products and services originate from the FLSmidth Minerals operation group’s need for a more effective means of controlling and maintaining large grinding mills and systems, but have also been developed in conjunction with plant operators. This philosophy has resulted in products that have addressed the needs of operators and have been field proven in operating plants prior to commercial release.
