Bowl Desiltors

Bowl Desiltors consist of a comparatively shallow, flat-bottomed tank or bowl equipped with rakes. The Bowl Desiltor has its widest applications in the recovery of relatively fine sand overflowing washing units in concrete sands, foundry sands, glass sand, and limestone processing industries. It also serves ahead of thickeners or clarifiers to scalp off oversize material, reducing the sand load and allowing subsequent settling basins to adequately handle the remainder of settleable solids. This type of equipment has been particularly useful in applications on blast furnace scrubber water and BOF furnace water where heavier burdens have been placed on clarification equipment. Tanks or bowls are available in sizes from 20 feet up to 50 feet in diameter with either simplex or duplex rake classifier sections, 4 -16 feet wide and 12 - 40 feet in length. The range of separation is between 100 to 325 mesh.
