FLSmidth Mineral’s leading position in the field of mine hoist technology through the well known Vecor brand was further enhanced in 1997 with the purchase of the mine hoist business of GEC Alstom South Africa.
Our mine hoists have figured prominently in the mining industry as we have pioneering both new technologies and new designs. These breakthroughs include the Blair multi-rope hoist, Escort brake control systems, and the new high response closed loop brake control systems.
With this record of accomplishment, it is no surprise that we have installed more than 630 hoists with drum diameters ranging in size from less than 1 meter to 6.3 meters.
Our experience with mine hoists focuses on three principal categories:
- Drum hoists (both double drum and single drum)
- Blair multi-rope hoists (BMR hoists)
- Friction hoists (Koepe hoists)
