The Technequip™ Tech-Taylor™ valve has been manufactured since the mid 1960s. Today there is hardly a mining facility in the world that has not had some experience with the Tech-Taylor valve which is a dual or triplex free ball check valve used to isolate pumps mounted in parallel.
In a process plant, standby pumps are often provided in critical areas. In many instances, two or more pumps discharge into a common line leading to the next step in the process. Prior to the development of the Tech-Taylor valve, this junction required a shut-off valve on each pump discharge line to prevent the fluid from flowing back through the inoperative pump and also to permit removal of this pump for maintenance.
The Tech-Taylor valve performs these functions automatically, without any external energy source. The body of the Tech-Taylor valve replaces the 'Y' fitting formerly required, and is designed for maximum abrasion resistance and minimal pressure drop, making it a trouble-free addition to a piping system.
